without good deli Sandwiches, is life Worth living?

While it is difficult to imagine, there was once a time when you could not buy a corned beef sandwich in the village of Keene, Kentucky. With the establishment of Wilson's Grocery & Deli, this historical shortcoming has been addressed.

When word spread to Ireland that a good deli sandwich could not be found in Keene, Irishmen Conor McCarthy and John O'Dwyer traveled to America with their dream of bringing deli sandwiches to Keene.

While Conor and John struggled to adapt to the strange ways of their adopted homeland, their spirits were lifted when they discovered that Keene was much like the rural Irish villages of their youth - and that the natives of rural Jessamine County enjoyed a hearty breakfast and satisfying lunch as much as their brothers and sisters in Ireland.

With this in mind, the partners proclaimed, "We will feed the proud people of Keene breakfast and lunch - and they will be satisfied." With those words, John and Conor set out to establish a grocery and deli.

That's not quite the real story.  John and Conor opened the doors of their grocery in 2006 and adopted the name of previous grocery with a hundred-year history in Keene, Wilson's Grocery.
